Carole Young McCollum was born and raised in Georgia, but has lived in five States and travelled extensively throughout the Country. However, her inspiration and subject matter come from the mountains of North Georgia, particularly Goshen Mountain in northern Habersham County.
Carole has been influenced by artists such as Glen Loates and J. F. Landsdowne, whose tightly rendered works were dominated by a simple background, and those of Carl Brenders and Raymond Harris-Ching, whose paintings portray the subject immersed in its natural setting. Working exclusively in watercolor, her own painting style could be best described as photo-realism, depicting local wildlife in their native surroundings.
Besides offering originals and prints, Carole is also available for commissioned artwork.
